johnbuckley Posted June 4, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is going to read like an ad, but it isn't. I've been a fan of Artisan & Artist bags for some time, and will admit to having both an Oscar One-Day Bag and an Evans Walker. These are great, small bags, perfect for a Leica M and as many as four lenses (in addition to the one on the camera), as well as enough space for extra batteries and, if this your wont, film. My one complaint is that they are too small for use as one's all-in-one carry-on bag, even with an iPad instead of books! But I just received from Tony at PopFlash the new COV-8000, and I have to say, it is a damn near perfect bag. ARTISAN & ARTIST* COV-8000 BLACK CAMERA BAG NEW! It has another interior bag containing space for, well, an S2 and several lenses. The bag is removable, so if you aren't taking cameras, you actually have a decent brief case or overnight bag. But if you are taking cameras, and are going for a trip, it's pretty perfect: room for everything from a laptop to magazines and an iPad, and your phone, and a book, in addition to your gear. It is shaped like a brief case with a shoulder strap. I won't use it every day -- I use the Evans Walker for wandering around town. But I can absolutely see using it for a trip. And then there is this: my work takes me to New York one or two days each week, and I work out of a client's office. I find it a little odd to take my M9 in my brief case. But now the COV-8000 could serve as the brief case, and I can take a camera. A nice development.

johnbuckley Posted June 4, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted June 4, 2010 The COV-700 bag is a smaller version of the 800. If the 800 is too big, the 700 would seem to fit that nice middle ground between a walk-around bag and a travel bag.
kivis Posted June 4, 2010 Share #4 Posted June 4, 2010 I use my A & A Evans Walker all the time, but picked up a Think Tank Disguise 50 for travel. Awesome.
artspraken Posted June 14, 2010 Share #5 Posted June 14, 2010 great functionality, but I am not a fan of the tote bag look.
