ldhayden Posted June 11, 2010 Share #64 Posted June 11, 2010 Mine says it should be here in California tomorrow. Not really sure if FedEx will deliver it tomorrow. I did put a badge up on my blog. Sorry don't have Facebook or Twitter and the badge is what Blurb provided but it does link to the book directly. Larry

psquared Posted June 12, 2010 Share #67 Posted June 12, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mine arrived this morning as well. It looks great. I like how the composite picture on the back cover contains all the submissions (I assume all). Thanks to all the organizers for bringing this to fruition. If anybody's keeping track, the book was delivered to Los Angeles, California, USA (N34 02.6, W118 28.5).
wparsonsgisnet Posted June 12, 2010 Share #68 Posted June 12, 2010 My copy arrived and I began to look at it today. It amazes me how images only appear correctly in print. It is a beautiful book! The pictures are stunning and reproduced absolutely wonderfully. B/W's and color, both. The editors's choices are really well done. I couldn't be more pleased to be part of this effort. Thanks to Bill and all the major contributors. I think including ALL the submissions on the back cover is genius. Great cover. I'll be announcing the book far and wide. Regards to all,
ldhayden Posted June 13, 2010 Share #69 Posted June 13, 2010 My copy arrived today and I really must echo the thoughts of the previous posters. The book is very well done and the image editing very well thought out. I really like the layout. As far as quality goes, the book feels and looks like a book published by a large company. The paper quality just feels right and the reproduction of the images is top notch. Congrats to all of the photographers whose images were selected - lots of wonderful stuff included - and a heart felt thank you to the major contributors whose efforts in getting this book published are clearly evident in the final product. stunsworth Posted June 13, 2010 Share #70 Posted June 13, 2010 Thanks guys, I think I speak for everyone involved when I say it's pleasing to see that people like the book. There's a surprising amount of work involved in putting something like this together, and I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to make it a success. Not least because we're managed to raise so much money for a good cause. Regarding the collage on the rear of the book, I have a slight confession to make. I put that together and there's one photograph missing. I have no idea which one. The numbers meant that one had to be lost in order to get all of the other photographs to fill the page - imagine if we had a 5 photographs but required a 2x2 grid for the back page. So I'm very sorry for that individual. I did think of offering a prize if someone could tell me it was their photograph that was missing <grin>. Thanks again to everyone who has already bought the book, or plans to.
StS Posted June 13, 2010 Share #71 Posted June 13, 2010 Well, a back side collage showing all images is a nice idea. Stefan
dhsimmonds Posted June 14, 2010 Share #72 Posted June 14, 2010 My book arrived today and it is even better than my already very high dreams! It also arrived a day earlier than that estimated by Fedex...so it made for a nice experience all round. Thanks to everyone involved in the hard work of selecting, editing and preparing the book and to all of us for contributing images and purchasing the finished product. It is a great cause and now that I have seen it I will definitely buy some more for friends and family. Will there be publicity in the International photographic press, I wonder? The more book's that are sold the better!
octo Posted June 14, 2010 Share #73 Posted June 14, 2010 I have had no problem making dummy purchases with either Safari or Firefox. I will try with Chrome later. No problem ordering, using PayPal. Looking forward to receiving it. Thanks again to Steve & co (too many to remember all the names: don't want to miss anyone).

bill Posted June 15, 2010 Share #78 Posted June 15, 2010 The thing I really dislike about this book is how much it tempts me for an M9 seeing some of this work.... That's psycho-somatic... Actually, the M8 was most used, accounting for 29.6% of the images in the final book. Second most used was the M6, with 11.3%, then the M7 and M9 tied on 7%, as did the DMR if you add together R8 and R9 usage. Most used small sensor camera was the D-Lux 4 at 4.2% - the same as the MP.
