Film and Digital?

This is not my quote - - I picked it up a couple of months ago, but it tracks my sentiments. With Photoshop and all the other means of altering what you photographed when you pushed the button, it saya a lot.

"Digital Photography is like shaved legs on a man - very smooth and clean but there is something acutely disconcerting about it."

+1

the "material" ,the consistency in the film and not in digital

high-fidelity in image for the film (like in sound)

I have both and i keep it :)

At the moment, I'd say roughly 90% of what I do that amuses me is shot on film.

I wouldn't be able to justify my D700 if I were to consider its purchase today as opposed to last summer. Digital just isn't satisfying enough for me.

Use film for one particular project which has been going on for a long time and was started on film so might as well continue on film.

Like film cameras, but digital is just too convenient for me not to use.

Digital for commercial work and film for art.

Now have 5 film bodies (including an M6 and MP, 2 Holgas and an old Rebel ) and 2 DSLRs. I having been feeling less inspired by digital lately, so hitting film pretty hard. But, since I'm scanning the film in I guess that counts as digital too!

This weekend I ran a film through my Linhof Technika, each photo takes at least 15 minutes. In compensation I then ran a film through the Contax TVS 2 and shot a few frames on the R8. Back to digital on Sunday.

I love my d700 to make photos anytime and prefer it for family posed shots but when it comes to my photography I use my Leica CM I love the look it gives I've learned to use pro film and who I can rely on developeing it. Of course I would love to have the m9 digital but someday i might get the x1 or a later model just because I love Leica.
