Wedding photos

I took some shots at a friends wedding before Christmas. I was planning on using my Bronica but the shutter started playing up so I took my R3 and LC5 (D1). I actually used the LC5 a lot at the reception, it was ideal for grab shots of the guests (with additional flash).

I've played around in photoshop to add some effects to a few shots for variety. The first two are with the R3 and the others with the LC5. I'm giving the couple a CD with all images in colour and B&W, as well as some effects, and they can choose which ones they want printed.

Comments welcome.

Hi James,

Nice Images - I like some of the blur effect. I think it's great taking pictures for your friends, a lot of wedding photographer are unable to catch the great natural momments because the the bride and groom are so aware that they are there.

Thanks for the comments.

Ron, the film was Konica/Minolta colour film, 200. I'm not sure if its still being made now but I have a few rolls left in the fridge. I bought some when it was on offer at a local shop and I'm actually very pleased with it, for a 'consumer' film. The colours are very natural.

I have taken a number of weddings in the past, always with the Bronny, but the last one was a couple of years ago. In this case the couple were friends and specifically wanted me to take some candid shots as the hired photographer was only present at the church.

Alberto, I agree the LC5 is a very good camera in certain situations. I've found it particularly suitable for portraits/people photography. In this case the photos will be printed in a book, 6X8" max, so 4MP is fine.
