But taking a shot is only half of the work; the other half that makes a shot different is what you do in PP. I don't agree with those who are satisfied with "out of the camera" shots, letting the camera's software to decide about your shot! However, I find that some cameras make one a better photographer. The D-Lux 4 is such a camera. It reignited my passion for photography and - as your photos show - in the right hands it can do wonders. It turns from a point-and-shoot to a point-and-stun . I am also with you on PP. It is true that we should feel comfortable with a camera to make a good use of it. As for Dlux4, if it had a longer zoom and an EVF, it would be the perfect little camera for me! So many shots I am loosing because I can’t see a think in the LCD!... I think technically, it is not impossible. Just look at Nikon and Canon; they have cameras as small with much longer zoom and an EVF! I hope the next generation of Dlux/Lx would take that under serious consideration. I, also, respect anyone else’s opinion and preferences in regards to PP; even if I don’t agree with their approach!... Let me put it this way. Just imagine 10 people, shooting the same subject, from the same place, at the same time, with the same lens! There is a big chance that all ten shots would be the same! But, they can only make it “unique” as a “Personal Expression” (and “Different”) with their own approach of PP! The bottom line is that we are all trying to create an image that represents us; therefore, we must put something of ourselves in that image! But I am sure we are on the same page!
