pauledell Posted May 21, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 21, 2010 Euston, A gorgeous dreamy picture with great composition, lovely colors and sharpness. The vignetting adds to it. Paul

Louis Posted May 23, 2010 Share #8 Posted May 23, 2010 Dear Robert, you did it!... One of the best lower shots I have seen!... Colrs, composition, PP, and everything else is just fantastic!... I am surprised you used your Vlux instead of M9!... Although I used to see your masterly work with Vlux! Well; if you wish to keep hosting DPR Challenges, you should post it! allamande Posted May 23, 2010 Share #9 Posted May 23, 2010 This is dreamy, delicate, lovely; and I think you don't even need the vignetting. Ece
euston Posted May 23, 2010 Author Share #10 Posted May 23, 2010 Louis, Ece, thank you my friends. Louis, I’m still learning how to take flowers with the M9. Getting close enough is the problem. I may have better luck when my Summilux 50 comes back from being repaired in Germany. The V-Lux provides a little softness and texture (noise) which I rather like in this sort of picture. It makes it look a bit like a painting without having to apply a brush stroke filter. Ece, I’ve only recently started using the vignetting tools in ACR as an effect rather than purely as a corrective. As often happens with a newly acquired technique, I’m overusing it. I expect my use of it will get more subtle in time. I reckon David (wda) was right - this picture needs a little distance to appear at its best.
