Dear Robert, you did it!... One of the best lower shots I have seen!...

Colrs, composition, PP, and everything else is just fantastic!... I am surprised you used your Vlux instead of M9!... Although I used to see your masterly work with Vlux!

 

Well; if you wish to keep hosting DPR Challenges, you should post it! ;)

Louis, I’m still learning how to take flowers with the M9. Getting close enough is the problem. I may have better luck when my Summilux 50 comes back from being repaired in Germany. The V-Lux provides a little softness and texture (noise) which I rather like in this sort of picture. It makes it look a bit like a painting without having to apply a brush stroke filter.

 

Ece, I’ve only recently started using the vignetting tools in ACR as an effect rather than purely as a corrective. As often happens with a newly acquired technique, I’m overusing it. I expect my use of it will get more subtle in time. I reckon David (wda) was right - this picture needs a little distance to appear at its best.
