Louis Posted May 20, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dlux4 Sorry; I don't want to make the same mistake I did with my "Peony" shot, using a wrong name!... I am sure many of you (more especially Ece) can tell us what is the name of this flower!
Advertisement Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Hi Louis, Take a look here A Yellow Flower. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
allamande Posted May 20, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2010 OK, I'll take a crack at it: It looks like an Icelandic poppy. And, in your capable hands, it looks like a Rembrandt. Ece
Louis Posted May 20, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted May 20, 2010 Dear Ece, you are just amazing!... How would a "Turkish" lady know about poppies in Iceland!?... I didn't even know they had poppies in Iceland. The last time (before the eruption) I flew over Iceland, it looked like another and deserted planet!... I googled your suggestion; and of course, you are right! Icelandic poppy - Google Search As always,
stuny Posted May 20, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 20, 2010 Louis - Alternatively, if this were your pet flower you could call it "Larry." Excellent, as usual.

leicamann Posted May 22, 2010 Share #8 Posted May 22, 2010 The orange is a bit desaturated and "muted".. the name Papaver Californium" not to be confused with..Eschscholzia californica..which is much more vibrant and really is not a poppy. Cheers, JRM
Louis Posted May 22, 2010 Author Share #9 Posted May 22, 2010 The orange is a bit desaturated and "muted".. the name Yes, indeed; it was done in purpose!...
psquared Posted May 23, 2010 Share #10 Posted May 23, 2010 Beautiful. For those using color space-unaware browsers, you may want to convert the pictures to sRGB and not Adobe RGB. The orange appears quite a bit more desatured than you intended on Internet Explorer, for example.
