digbyhp Posted June 11, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted June 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Try this url for compatibility info - photoCLE : Compatibility of Leica M lenses and Minolta CLE. If your cron ends up definitely not ok, then try getting a used Summicron-C 40 mm or M-Rokkor 40mm. It might seem like doubling up a bit with your 35, but the 40s are highly regarded and I am getting a C myself. Also more compact than the 35. Advertisement Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Hi digbyhp, Take a look here Love my CLE. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gyoung Posted June 24, 2010 Share #22 Posted June 24, 2010 the CL is a true M....just that many don't like to hear it;)enjoy andy mmm... its got Leica written on it, but my recollection (from a very long time ago) was that it felt flimsy and tinny compared to an M, Again, I'm certainly prepared to believe its a good camera, but for me the Voigtlanders are a much better companion to an M, frames are (in an R2) the same as the lenses for the M (ie the 35 and 50 which are my most used lenses) and the r/f works at least as well with 90 as the CL. Wasn't the meter in the CL a 'spot' meter too, generally I get on better with a 'centre weighted' or similar meter, such as M6 or R2, and both the MR and voigtlander meters I have used on the M3 Gerry
a.noctilux Posted July 21, 2010 Share #23 Posted July 21, 2010 I read somewhere that the 35 Cron (non-Asph) is not compatible with the CLE. And that's the one I have! Hello, Summicron-M 35 IV (non-asph.) has a plastic ring at len's rear that stuck in the cell's protection. If one try to mount the Cron (set to infinity), this can damage the CLE and the Cron. - As is, when mounted (set to 70cm), the Cron is usable from 80cm to circa 3m - If for full-use just cut some millimeters of the plastic ring and use a SBLOO finder Regards, Arnaud
plasticman Posted August 9, 2010 Share #24 Posted August 9, 2010 Was in a local photo shop yesterday here in baden baden and there are two up for sale at 150 euro and 250 euro respectively...sat there on the window display with hundreds of people passing by probably thinking 'whats that old film contraption' and don't give them a second look. Hi Andy - I'm looking for a mint CL with 40/2 - do you recall whether either of these cameras fit that description? Mani
