Advertisement Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Hi fortressdvd, Take a look here Edgar Santana, Professional Boxer. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
macos Posted July 9, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 9, 2006 I don't know why anybody hasn't said anything about the picture. IMHO it transports the mood of the location and the person. Could of course also be a cliche, but doesn't change the impression of a strong picture. Only one minor point: if it is posed, the diagonal element over Edgar's head creates a small moment of irritataion for me. But as said, I like the pic. jmr Posted July 9, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 9, 2006 Devin, gritty portrait, I like the separation created by the slightly defocussed background.
stuny Posted July 9, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 9, 2006 Devin - You’ve expertly caught the fierceness, concentration and determination required in this sport. Then there are the excellent tones, focus and framing. Stuart
stunsworth Posted July 9, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 9, 2006 Devin, I like this but I'd have framed it rather differently. Since he's looking to the right I'd have had him more to the left of the frame rather than central - or have cropped tighter. I don't think the area to the left really does anything for the image. Also it's a pity his hands have been cut off. Since that's what he uses to earn his living it would have been nice to see them. However don't let that detract from what is a good photograph. Guest user10847 Posted July 9, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 9, 2006 Strong. And the framing doesn't disturb me at all. Maybe a little bit better with complete hands.
