leicamann Posted July 10, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted July 10, 2006 Thanks Al..unfortunately I am still experiencing "compression issues" this is but a paltry version of the original.....being scanned from film. My inclination here also ..given the "paltry feedback" is to be strongly disinclined to participating in this forum too much... I like the software..but its lost its soul..too bad.... sometimes we don't know what we got till its gone... Cheers, JRM
Sandokan Posted July 10, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 10, 2006 Great shot and you have beautifully brought out all the tones, clouds and sky. However, with the house in the middle of the photo - my eye just sits there and does not flow around the page...
andybarton Posted July 10, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 10, 2006 John I think that I agree with you in that we are only getting a hint of what this will look like when you have printed it properly. Nice work.
hm1912 Posted July 10, 2006 Share #6 Posted July 10, 2006 A very interesting shot. I'm still taking in the effect of the Yellow filter. I've found in my shots that in a nature scene like this, with so much of the sky in the frame, that my eye goes to the sky, and the use of green or yellow filters highlights parts of the photograph that don't excite me very much. However, in this case, I'm finding the effect quite intriguing. I'm thinking that it is because of the old house in the centre. If I could ask you a two questions about the developing process, did you burn the sky at all and which grade did you use?
stuny Posted July 10, 2006 Share #7 Posted July 10, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) John - This is quite a change for you, and just as good. Wonderful tones, textures, and light. Stuart

lambroving Posted July 10, 2006 Share #9 Posted July 10, 2006 Hello John, Nice one. Looks almost like a green filter, so I guess that grass is pretty dry. As for the response, you have to give it a day or two sometimes due to time zones, not to mention work-load. Would be nice to have Bill H.& Brent here more, but at least Conrad is here when he's not on a shoot. Also, you are getting a wider audience now that the Germans can enter easily from the home page. Keep posting!!!
