Digilux 2 Drivers in Windows 7

Hello,

 

I just purchased my first Leica today, a beautiful Digilux 2! I installed the Remote software on my laptop with Windows 7, but when I connect the Digilux 2 I can't find the drivers. Has anyone had any luck installing the Digilux 2 drivers in Windows 7?

First of all, welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy your D2.

 

There is a way of choosing compatibility mode when you install on Win7. Remove/uninstall the current install and try setting the mode to WinXP. Right click on the installer and select propeties, from the compatibility pane you can set the level. Have no idea if it works for the D2 software, but it is worth a try.

Thanks Carl. I used the Windows XP mode to install the remote software, and that is working just fine. I can't get Windows 7 to find the drivers for the camera when I connect the USB cable, though. Anyone know where I can find the drivers for the Digilux 2?

There won't be any "specific" drivers for Windows 7. The camera is nearly 7 years old.

 

Are you saying you've got the camera working "tethered" in XP?

I could never get the software to run on a Mac, and I seem to recall it reported on this forum some time back, that even the two most renowned D2 experts, reported it unusable on the Win platform either
