frc Posted May 8, 2010 Share #21 Posted May 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The R9 + lens combo would definitely be less conspicuous with the screaming red dot replaced by a black one.

Photon42 Posted May 9, 2010 Share #22 Posted May 9, 2010 Peter, Big is relative :-) How do you like the silver lens on your silver body? I'm undecided about color. My M8 is silver. Any chance you can provide a front and side view? Thanks. Hi Wilfredo, Does that help? Welcome, dear visitor! peter_n Posted May 10, 2010 Share #24 Posted May 10, 2010 If you're worried about size there's also the LHSA edition of the Summilux 50 ASPH. It's smaller than the regular lens and a bit bigger than the v.2 pre-ASPH 50. It comes in chrome and black with an E43 filter ring and no tab. Below: the Summilux v.2 (left) and two LHSA Summilux 50 ASPH lenses. Welcome, dear visitor! I'm not worried about size, I previously owned a 50mm Konica Hexanon for about 4 years which was bigger than the Summicron. The Summilux ASPH looks bigger than the Hexanon but not so big that it will become an issue for me. I hope to get the silver version. I assume the LHSA version has a higher price tag. The classic look of that version is beautiful but the expense of the regular edition is already a stretch for me financially so I will be going with that version. peter_n Posted May 11, 2010 Share #26 Posted May 11, 2010 I assume the LHSA version has a higher price tag.Actually at the time I bought these they were a bit cheaper. Don't know what the price is now relative to the regular version, maybe a bit more expensive as they're limited edition so collectors involved. One thing to know about these lenses is that the E43 filter thread uses a pesky 0.5mm thread pitch just like the E43 pre-ASPH Summilux lens. It can be a pain finding filters that fit. cbretteville Posted May 11, 2010 Share #27 Posted May 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica makes an E43 uv/ir filter that fits the v1 and v2 50 'lux so that should fit the LHSA version. The only drawback is that it is made in chrome only. Carl

It's the colored filters that are very difficult to find.
