Per P. Posted April 26, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 26, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, By import into LR 2.7 my WB setting from the M9 gets overwritten. The MP User profile is set to 5500 and this is confirmed when pressing the Info button in Play mode. After import into LR it shows up as "As shot" in the Development module, and the setting is now 4450 for all photos I am wondering if this is after playing with presets. But I have used the reset to Adobe settings function without success. For the record I tried importing into the LR3 beta with the same result as in 2.7. Really hope someone can help with this! Advertisement Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Hi Per P., Take a look here Help: LR Import overwrites white balance. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Luke_Miller Posted April 26, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 26, 2010 In my experience it will rarely match the actual value. Adobe uses both a Kelvin temperature setting and a tint setting for white balance so in Lightroom 4450 (plus the tint value) is what Adobe believes best matches the 5500 you set. Per P. Posted April 26, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 26, 2010 WIth all respect I doubt that interpretation. This has not happened before, and since the Adobe selector states "as shot" it would also be very misleading. It is also across a large number of photos that all end up with 4450. Thanks nonetheless for responding, Per.
Luke_Miller Posted April 26, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 26, 2010 Here is a thread in the M8 Forum that may be useful. Don't know if it is relevant to the M9. When you say you set WB to 5500 in camera did you set it to 5500 Kelvin or use the Flash preset? On the M8.2 with latest firmware it makes a difference. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/111560-white-balance-question.html

If you open those images in C1 or some other RAW processor it will very well show a different WB then you set and what LR thinks it is.
