Advertisement Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Hi dkCambridgeshire, Take a look here Amateur Photographer magazine X1 review 24 April. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 24, 2010 Yes- not very favourable, and I can understand the objections. Image quality was OK though.
jsrockit Posted April 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2010 Wow, another review that says the same thing? I would have never guessed.
wda Posted April 25, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 25, 2010 Much of the report was fair and accurate. I just object to the AP scoring system which penalizes any camera which does not have the very latest and complete set of gizmos incorporated. Who would buy the X1 for its video (assuming Leica was ill-advised to incorporate such a feature)? All the AP test criteria are weighted equally. That is where any rating system falls down. I much favour a review by a serious photographer accustomed to the test subject marque. I doubt that Angela Nicholson has ever been a 'Leica' photographer and therefore she just lumps the X1 in with a diverse category of small digital cameras. dkCambridgeshire Posted April 25, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted April 25, 2010 The reviewer intimates that the distance scale enables hyperfocal distance focusing? I don't think so - not with those so few distance figure calibrations. I wonder if she really tried it thus? dunk
