dkCambridgeshire Posted April 21, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 21, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone else noticed that a well known UK dealer has a steady supply of used M9 bodies (but only listed one at a time) in mint condition and they sell quickly? dunk
Advertisement Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Hi dkCambridgeshire, Take a look here Used M9 bodies availability. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
boilerdoc Posted April 21, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2010 I'd be very leery of that......Doubtful that there many, if any, M9s floating around out there. Steve
tdtaylor Posted April 21, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 21, 2010 Actually, there are three on FM and two which have just been sold. Before that, rarely has one seen one posted in the Buy-Sell.

tdtaylor Posted April 24, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 24, 2010 Several more posted today. If the explanations are true, it appears many who jumped into the M waters for the first time are having second thoughts. I also jumped, but you'll have to pry it out my hands at gunpoint . pascal_meheut Posted April 24, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 24, 2010 To be expected. I saw a lot of requests on the forums by photographer interested in something much smaller than their FF SLR. We always told them that the M is different and requires some training to be mastered and some people never feel right with it...
jaques Posted April 24, 2010 Share #7 Posted April 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) or perhaps these are refurbished cameras... cracked sensor replacements, etc.
57andrew Posted April 24, 2010 Share #8 Posted April 24, 2010 I am amazed if people give up on this camera. I used an M3 many, many years ago but have long since moved to Canon (currently 1D mk iv) for wildlife but a birthday M9 has taken me back a few decades and I am re-learning all over again. What I find annoying is the poor LCD screen and, using AWB, poor white balance. But adjust the white balance in CS4 and that is about all I do. The shots are razor sharp unless its my fault (I struggle a bit with my glasses) and the colour rendition, clarity and cleanness of the images are startling. Battery life is a bit short but give it back / sell into the secondary market - I'd have to be crazy! Whether it is value for money depends on how much money you have I guess but its a wonderful piece of kit.
andybarton Posted April 24, 2010 Share #9 Posted April 24, 2010 I can't understand why these Mint- cameras aren't being offered to / snapped up by the people on waiting lists. If an authorised dealer still has a waiting list, which most if not all do, then if one comes in or is made available as a factory refurb, then why would it ever get as far as the stage in front of the second hand department camera? I would have expected them to go out of the door the same day that they came in.
PayPerView Posted April 24, 2010 Share #10 Posted April 24, 2010 I'll be selling my mint Black M9 when my silver one finally comes! Just like those selling new Ferrari's,,,thousands of cars and thousands of stories. Maybe I should get a Ferrari Red M9?

Shade Posted April 25, 2010 Share #12 Posted April 25, 2010 If my M9 (new) didn't come any earlier, I would've snapped up any second/used body anytime. Provided the price makes some sense.
scott kirkpatrick Posted April 25, 2010 Share #13 Posted April 25, 2010 "Used (mint)" means different things when said by different people. I know one dealer who uses this phrase to describe brand new grey market units. They sell at a slightly lower price than brand new, and have an international (Solms) warranty, rather than a Leica US warranty. If asked, that dealer will tell you that the cameras are new. And the SKU for these reads "INTxyzw" . scott
