elansprint72 Posted January 7, 2007 Author Share #21 Posted January 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I generally park at The Grosvenor; my man tips the valet then polishes the Lagonda. Cocktails gratis (Lord Barton's account) and I'm under the clock in 30 sec. I'll be wearing magenta, it's sooooo.. this year's colour . I'll be there 09:30 for 10:00. Pete. If anyone else is coming, please let me know; The Albion were a little vague when I asked about reserving tables.
Advertisement Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here NW England meeting?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted January 7, 2007 Share #22 Posted January 7, 2007 I find mentioning that I'm part of Lord Barton of Barton's party always helps - he owns the Wirral don't you know! I'm not surprised the Albion don't reserve tables - they sell themselves as a 'proper' pub not a resto ;-)
DTD Posted January 10, 2007 Share #23 Posted January 10, 2007 Don't think I'll be able to make it chaps. You'll have to buy your own macaroons (or I can post them to Rolo).

elansprint72 Posted January 13, 2007 Author Share #26 Posted January 13, 2007 I've given you a map! I know, but we are dealing with Leica users here! I think my V-Lux1 has built in GPS but I've not read all the menu screens yet.
andybarton Posted January 13, 2007 Share #27 Posted January 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's the big, ornate clock on the bridge, where the city wall passes over Eastgate Street. If I knew a local photog, I'd send him out to take a decent picture for you (This isn't one of mine, btw. My hot air balloon is in for a service) Welcome, dear visitor! cocker Posted January 24, 2007 Share #35 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi, Looking forward to the trip - hope the good weather holds up! Now I have my M8, after a bit of thought, I have traded in my M6 - loved to use it but abhorred scanning. Consequently I have some left over film of various kinds in the fridge which I'm very happy to donate to film users attending if anyone wants it. Let me know and I'll bring it along - otherwise its for the bin. Best wishes

Falstaff Posted January 24, 2007 Share #37 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi I too am a new Forum member and would very much like to attend the Chester meeting on Sunday 28th. Is lunch still at the Albion at about 1.00pm? Regarding car parks, and if I remember correctly, the one at the racecourse has a flat rate of about £3 – certainly cheaper than the major car parks in town, and is a 5-8 minute walk from the meeting venue. Hope to see you all on Sunday.
andybarton Posted January 24, 2007 Share #38 Posted January 24, 2007 You are more than welcome, V. (Not sure if we can continue calling you "V" all day, but we'll cross that bridge on Sunday ) Yes, the Racecourse is an option and is much cheaper than any of the NCPs. Another good option is the Park and Ride at the Racecourse (if you can face being on a bus ). Easy to find, cheap, and discharges you adjacent to the clock.
