Advertisement Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Hi fjmcsu, Take a look here Photoshop CS5. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted April 12, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2010 I see that they are still charging MORE to download a copy than to have the box sent to you. How on earth does that work?
Guest WPalank Posted April 12, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 12, 2010 CS5 Learning Center is up and running as of this morning: Adobe Photoshop CS5 Learning Center | Learn Adobe Photoshop CS4, Lightroom and Digital Photography | NAPP
Shootist Posted April 12, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 12, 2010 Glad to see these new feature are included in the standard CS5 release and not limited to the Extended version. I have no need for the extended version as I don't do any video. I'll wait for the release so I can purchase it from someplace that does not charge tax and maybe get free shipping. Every time I order directly from Adobe they stick me with tax and shipping.
Guest WPalank Posted April 12, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 12, 2010 Now that the "HDR Pro" function in CS5 is roughly equivalent to Photomatix Pro, get ready to see HDR used everywhere!
ptarmigan Posted April 13, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 13, 2010 get ready to see HDR used everywhere! Not again! I'n not sure I'll go for CS5 as to be honest I try to avoid doing too much PP anyway and I need to finally decide on LR3 or Aperture 3 and find a replacement for Dreamweaver now that I can't use Studio MX on Snow Leopard so that's more than enough outlay on software for 2010 methinks. wlaidlaw Posted April 14, 2010 Share #7 Posted April 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought the download on the foolish thought that it would be immediate. Well the removal of the money from my charge card was but I was then advised my download would be available around 30th of April. Rip off is the phrase that springs to mind. The contextual replacement tool looks fantastic though. Wilson
stunsworth Posted April 14, 2010 Share #8 Posted April 14, 2010 Wilson, doesn't the web page say that it's not available yet? It did when I looked yesterday.
Shootist Posted April 14, 2010 Share #9 Posted April 14, 2010 Wilson, doesn't the web page say that it's not available yet? It did when I looked yesterday. Yes it does, IIRC, but that doesn negate that fact that they already got wilson's money. IIRC in the US the last time I bought from the sdobe website they didn't chrage my card until the software was shipped. But that was in the US. andybarton Posted April 14, 2010 Share #10 Posted April 14, 2010 As someone who upgraded from PS6 through to CS3 incl, I skipped CS4, so I will upgrade. I too went through the purchase process, but did notice all that is currently on offer is a "pre-order". I'd rather keep hold of my money until something "physical" is available. I agree that's very shabby on Adobe's part, especially since they charge more for a download only.

wlaidlaw Posted April 14, 2010 Share #13 Posted April 14, 2010 Wilson, doesn't the web page say that it's not available yet? It did when I looked yesterday. Steve, The email shot I got and from which I decided to purchase, carefully omitted that item - been taking lessons from British Politicians - being economical with the truth. fjmcsu Posted April 14, 2010 Author Share #14 Posted April 14, 2010 As the OP of this thread I too was mistaken or at least confused by the site. To me at least it appears one can download the software since if you take that strategy it takes you to the point of asking for credit card. I thus assumed it was ready for download as opposed to the menu stating pre-order on the full version! Once I was really ready to order later in the day it was clear to me that even the download was a pre-order(not sure why one would pre-order a download !). At any rate I pre-ordered a box upgrade !! 250swb Posted April 15, 2010 Share #15 Posted April 15, 2010 Well I pre-ordered the upgrade, I can't wait, its exciting. Steve
wlaidlaw Posted April 17, 2010 Share #16 Posted April 17, 2010 I wonder if Leica will be liaising with Adobe to avail themselves of the lens correction features. It corrects vignetting, distortion, chromatic aberration and colour fringing but no mention of red edges ;-}} Wilson

I was also advised that my card would not be charged until delivery. I am sure this would apply to all transactions! It does look like a good upgrade doesn't it? Shootist Posted April 19, 2010 Share #19 Posted April 19, 2010 I paid with Paypal and I have already been charged - not too impressed. Wilson PayPal took your money, which is common for them. If you had paid Adobe directly I doubt your card would of been charged until the software shipped. This is something you didn't state in the original post. Now PP has your money to do with whatever they want.

Now PP has your money to do with whatever they want. Ed, I have done this with pre-orders before and Paypal, where a placeholder is put in your account and the charge does not usually go through before the goods ship. As I said above, I bought this via an email flyer from Adobe, which on re-checking, I found that the delivery delay was mentioned but in print at the bottom of the email, in a font that you would need a microscope to read. The payment has actually been made to Adobe, as I have checked the transaction details in my Paypal account and I have received an acknowledgement of payment and receipt from Adobe.
