for being late twice on the promised delivery, removing my griptac covering and replacing it with the original crap covering and ' aligning the sensor ' and while you were at it giving it one of those nice classic lines in every shot.

thanks leica. so happy to be a professional who earns a good income off your wares ( and others ) and promotes your gear hard just to get fisted just as .. ... well i did feel owed, thanks leica.

looking forward to driving out to see you friday.

xx

p.s. why dont you stop opening a bunch of pointless stores and improve your effin service. honestly, who the hell in palm beach really knows how to use your cameras?

Whatever else, Griptac is your own risk. If Leica has to remove it, they will replace it with the original part. Most other maufacturers would void the warranty, which Leica doesn't. And I fail to see how a sensor alignment can give a dead pixel line, which is caused by cosmic radiation....

I think the key with Leica NJ is to stay in close contact with them via email and make sure they know EXACTLY what you want at all times. When I sent in my M8, I included a very careful letter, on paper, with the camera, explaining every problem, and even gave them a URL to a special web page I made demonstrating my sensor problems. And I told them that, if they had to remove the griptac, to please leave the camera bare so that I could add my own covering when it was returned.

Once they received it, I emailed Dave Elwell and repeated all this stuff and asked him to keep me informed. I ended up with great service and a fast turnaround.

I wonder if your sensor line was there before you sent it--check your old photos and see if it's there. When you send something to Leica, it seems like a good policy to spend a few days checking EVERYTHING, so that you can give them a nice long list of every single thing that needs attention...

Please- it is inexcusable if deadlines are not met and communication is lacking, so far the OP is right - but to damn them for not putting on new third-party covering and a dead pixel line which is probably caused by the flight in the UPS plane is just plain unfair, especially in the tone chosen.
