Anyone use Cron 50mm Rigid on M8?

After reading about some of the Cron 50, it seems that many like the Rigid version more than the rest. I currently use with (Leica LTM to M adapter) a LTM Coll Cron 50 sn 10xxxxx but has the Rigid version in mind. Is there any particular version/year of Rigid I should look for? Or should I just consider this as purely GAS?

Thanks for you thoughts and pics if you don'tind posting.

Cheers.

If you are fine with your collapsible, better you look for one of the last version, which is surely sharper: I have both an old LTM collapsible like yours and another in rigid mount but anyway of the first version (1963) and the difference is not so appreciable : with a "modern" one you surely have a step-up: of course this means renouncing to the unscrewable lens head for Visoflex usage... ;)

On the contrary, if your GAS is retro-style... think of a Summarit 1,5 : if in good conditions is a very very tasty lens.

I have both the collapsible (SM) and rigid (M mount). Both lenses are in excellent condition having been checked and CLA'd by Focal Point. While the SM is decent in terms of sharpness and contrast, it does flare rather easily. In my opinion, the rigid is very noticeably superior in all aspects. I would have no hesitancy using the rigid Summicron as a full time lens; however, this is not so in the case of the collapsible. hope this helps, ron
