You're right...the shot looks soft. Actually, its because I apparently didn't have any sharpening on at all when I processed it. The shutter speed was 1/500. Here is a link to another version of the same pic with a little output sharpening applied (and the picture is closer to original size which helps too, I think). http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2782/4496613410_4639bb06ff_b.jpg The real problem with this shot is that the white tail feathers on the drake are completely blown out because they are so bright in an otherwise neutral scene.
