ldhrads Posted April 1, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like using a soft release, seems to work better with my ungainly fingers. The problem is, I lose them. Sooner or later I look down at the camera and the latest one is gone:mad::mad: I don't want to put any superglue or thread glue on them, for fear of problems later. Any suggestions or just keep a stock of inexpensive ( not really) buttons around. LDH

norm_snyder Posted April 2, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 2, 2010 I agree--blue loctite, but only a tiny amount on say, the point of a toothpick. Just enough to coat a couple of threads- not enough to run.

wilfredo Posted April 5, 2010 Share #8 Posted April 5, 2010 Can you remove this stuff to use a cable release? Amazon sells it: http://www.amazon.com/Loctite-Threadlocker-Medium-Strength-color/dp/B0015PI75E/ref=pd_sbs_indust_4
norm_snyder Posted April 6, 2010 Share #9 Posted April 6, 2010 The blue [rather than the red] can be "broken" in terms of its adhesion, with extra force [e.g. a twist] but not easily. The red loctite is, I think, permanent, or nearly so.

The one I now use (the BIP which I think may be brass) has remained securely fastened to my M8 ever since I stuck it on. Best regards, Carl E
