jaques Posted March 21, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a 1.4 35 Nokton- I love the size of this lens- and the quality seems good enough for me. However I have detected a back focus problem when the lens is shot wide open. Is it possible to have such a lens re-collimated (is that the correct term?), adjusted, calibrated, repaired? I have a qualified Leica tech nearby with an optical bench and he says he can adjust the RF focus on leica lenses and bodies. Would the error with the CV's be related to manufacturing or assembly? permanent or repairable?

jaapv Posted March 21, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 21, 2010 Hard to answer - which continent do you live? That helps for recommendations of repair facilities for this lens, which almost certainly can be adjusted.
jaques Posted March 22, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted March 22, 2010 hello there Jaap, i am base in Australia- we have no Sherry Krauter I am afraid... however I do have a Leica trained (albeit in the microscope dept) technician living nearby. He was also Hasselblad trained and worked at Linhof... He knows his way around M cameras and recently did a great repair on my m6- clening the finder and repairing the rewind knob. He has an optical bench- and I guess I wil drop the lens off and see what he can do.
