Just picked up a used silver M8, ca. 8000 actuations. Bought the whole kit from previous owner with 35mm f/1.2 ASPH (silver) Voigtlander and 15mm f/4.5 ASPH (silver).

Its my first rangefinder in a long time. I used to have a Smiena when I was growing up (my fathers' camera) and then later a Zenit.

I used to be a canonite before this one. I've had a 5D, 1D2n, 40D, EOS7e, EOS-XI over the years with a number of L lenses (50mm f/1.2L, 16-35mm f/2.8L II, 70-200mm f/4.0L IS, 100-300 f/5.6L...)

Took some fun pics with it last night with the M8:

Thank you all, I'm surprised there are so many members here from my neck of the woods as well as from all over. Unfortunately it was a bit soggy in Ottawa today and the forecast looks gloomy for tomorrow too so I'll be limited in the use of this delicate and weather sensitive camera.

Best wishes,

Tom.

Understand I'm *not* telling you to take your M8 out in the wind and rain, but I don't think of it as "delicate"... As luck would have it I've shot it in many an unanticipated thunderstorm and consequential downpour...outdoor weddings don't just stop when it rains :)

So it may not be weatherproof but it's at least as good as any other digital camera I've ever used.
