UV / IR Filter- How to test it?

Still using inexpensive 40.5mm "Rocolax" UV/IR filters on my M-Rokkor lenses and they work quite well. They have no filter thread to screw another filter or a screw-in hood into them though. Protection vs flare could be better also but there is no free lunch. FWIW.

Rocolax is the brand I was referring to, but a correction to my earlier post -  I've just compared the Rocolax filter to my B+W one again and the metered exposure is the same, when I first tried the Rocolax I could have sworn it was causing the M8 to drop the shutter speed indicating it was reducing the light getting to the sensor, but I was obviously mistaken or had probably pointed the camera at an area with a slightly different light level.
