Brent1965 Posted March 10, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, question. I have one of the older Voigtlander viewfinders that I want to use with a newly purchased 25mm F4 snapshot skopar. There are no brightlines in this viewfinder. Does the view I see represent the actual frame image I'll get or is it just close but not 100% accurate? Any other users able to comment?
Advertisement Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Hi Brent1965, Take a look here using 25mm Voigtlander viewfinder - question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted March 10, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 10, 2010 Do you mean the black plastic viewfinder that was sold with the lens? If so, yes the whole viewfinder area will equate to approximately what you get on film. Remember that it's an optical viewfinder so it can't ever be 100% accurate! I use this lens/VF on my lllf. I'd say it will take a roll or two to get used to it, don't try to frame right up to the edge but adopt a slightly 'looser' style of framing and you will be fine. I think later versions had brightlines, but they won't make any difference in practice.
gyoung Posted March 11, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 11, 2010 I had one of these, without the bright line frame. It worked well as, but it is essential to make sure your eye is central to the eyepiece, otherwise framing can be considerably out, as I know to my cost! Later brightline voigtlander finders are quite a lot easier to use. Gerry
