Advertisement Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Hi markpsf, Take a look here Hand Grip Available. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stephen.w Posted March 9, 2010 Share #2 Â Posted March 9, 2010 Hi Mark, Personally, I found the handgrip to be a hinderance. It sticks out quite far, but is only about 3/4 the height of the camera, which is already pretty short. Also, as I'm sure you've heard other complaining of, the aperture dial is very awkwardly positioned and it requires an act of conciousness to avoid getting one's index finger all over it while shooting. I found it easier to grip the camera and avoid touching the dial without the grip on. However everyone's shooting style is different and others might like the grip. Â For me, another consideration was the 100 Euro asking price, but I realise that everyone's camera budget is different.
eduardoho Posted March 9, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted March 9, 2010 I wish they had inserted a useful module in the hand grip such as extended battery or a remote control for taking shots/slide show, make it more palatable given the price they are charging for. Remember the remote for c2 film camera point&shooter?... it was pretty convenient to take timed shots. The handgrip is retailed at roughly USD119.99 from optics planet web page. markpsf Posted March 10, 2010 Author Share #4 Â Posted March 10, 2010 I'm glad it's light and doesn't have any other function. I'll know on Thursday whether it works for me. If not it I'll consider it a tryout rental and I'll sell it. Â As to the price. Of course it's overpriced. What else is new in Leicaland?! h00ligan Posted March 10, 2010 Share #5 Â Posted March 10, 2010 Leica should be including this in the box given the price...
markpsf Posted March 10, 2010 Author Share #6 Â Posted March 10, 2010 Leica should be including this in the box given the price... Â Â I agree...but "shoulda, coulda" re Leica gets old for me. They are who they are. I like their cameras a lot. So we either accept Leica, warts and all, or not.... High prices and high integrity I think. Â Think about all those folks who bought Toyotas. At least my Leica stops when I want it to! Â Â Mark
stephen.w Posted March 10, 2010 Share #7 Â Posted March 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) It definitely should've been included in the box. I don't mind paying top dollar for their outstanding optics and cameras, but this is just a piece of moulded plastic - it must have cost them less than 1 Euro to produce.
