NordHiker Posted March 8, 2010 Share #1  Posted March 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) After returning from my trip to the northcap in Norway I was kind of surprised that corner fix helped in some times very properly to correct redcorners and lenscast but sometimes it didn`t. Below you can see two panos made out of three shots with the 18mm Elmar @f8, tripod of course, Manfrotto panohead. Before stiching both series were corrected by corner fix in the same way but turned out quiet differently. "ICE ENTRANCE" is accetpable, "ARCTIC SUITE" is not acceptable. I heard of it before but made me angry/sad.  So I called Solms today. "Yes we know about the problem, have been working on it and a firmware update will come this week. Yes this week." The friendly Leica guy said.  So let´s look forward! I hope that the update will make the M9 reliable with all lenses as it is for me up to now only working with the 90 Elmarit. (Even using the 50 Lux ("SILENT BAY") was a problem with lenscast when stiching panos of pictures of snow landscape).  The picture of "FROZEN HOUSE" is a pano made of three shot with the 90 Elmarit which satisfies me.  Everything will turn out well!  Tilman Welcome, dear visitor! yanidel Posted March 8, 2010 Share #9 Â Posted March 8, 2010 1/250 would be the minimum speed before the ISO starts to go up. 1/250 is smaller than 1/125 ... you get it now ?

This question from you out of all people surprises me, mainly because I admire your work just as much as Yanidel's.  Any automatic stops working at it's limits. Just like relaxed conversation works well within... this forum.  Cheers!

Ed_K Posted March 9, 2010 Share #12 Â Posted March 9, 2010 Hmm, that very much confirm another thread when one of our users was told by a leica guy that the new firmware will be available in around 3 weeks from mid February .... it's about time
ho_co Posted March 9, 2010 Share #13 Â Posted March 9, 2010 I think it's safe to say it's ready when it's ready. Â I also think that if someone starts a new thread each week saying that the update will appear this week, one of those posts will be right... How does Leica go about releasing new FW? Put it on their web site? I then learn about it from a forum like this one? What's their past practice?  Thanks, K-H. andalus Posted March 11, 2010 Share #20 Â Posted March 11, 2010 The firmware update is coming? I am about to place an order for the M9 with David Farkas but I won't do it unless the camera that I get has the new firmware installed. Â Don't know what to do with the MP. I'd not even consider selling it IF the M9 was not so expensive. Anybody out there sold an MP for the M9?????
