Hello,

I'm still looking for a system that can allow me to develop more than 4 reels a time. I was thinking to a tank that contains 8 reels. Since now I've been using a steel one, someone told me the paterson one allow also a longitudinal translation; I don't know if I'm wrong but I've never done the longitudinal translation, I use just to turn upside down it.

Do you suggest me to switch with a paterson one or to find a way to rotate the steel one?

Where do you suggest me to find ones? Either plastic or steel?

Do you think one is better than the other one?

Thanks for any help you caan give to me.

Agitation in 8 reel steel tanks is done with a lift rod which goes down the center of all the reels.

Pull up 1/2", twist 1/4 turn, lower, raise, twist is oposite direction, lower. Repeat every 30 or 60 sec depending on your preference. This of course requires a darkened room.

I would not attenpt to invert an eight reel tank.

Use two, fastened to a fixture, one for developer, one for fix. I never use ss or water stop on film.

Keep in mind that the tank will be quite large and heavy, perhaps making it difficult to properly invert and aggitate.

Hi

I have three 8x Patterson tanks, donno about inverting them never tried. I allus use Rodinal 1:100 for two hours @20C stand, fill tank, twirl with twirly stick, set alarm for hot water addition if tempering bath needed, a washing up bowl, in depths of winter.
