behirsch Posted February 28, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bought my first digital camera, a Leica M8. I understand that some lenses, particularly some old wide angle lenses, protrude too far into the body and can interfere with the shutter. Does anybody know if I can safely use the Canon LTM 25mm f3.5 LTM lens, with an M adapter? Thank you.

It is a decent performer and extremely compact - when stopped down to 5.6 also quite sharp with excellent colours! Enjoy yours! Best, Jan
Rona!d Posted March 1, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 1, 2010 Welcome, i have mooved that question to the Customer Forum because it had been posted in the wrong section "About the Leica Forum", where we only discuss things ABOUT the forum itself but not camera and lens technology. Gary B Posted March 1, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 1, 2010 I have been using my 25mm Canon on my M8 for 3 years now and have no problem. The lens records a little flat but that can be pumped up easily with soft ware. I really think that is a benefit. You might want to kit-bash a uv/ir filter to the 40mm front end of the lens, if you shoot colour and you find that you do not like magenta replacing black. Almost makes an M8 pocketable.
