LeicaMSeattle Posted February 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had the opportunity to go to Vancouver B.C. this last weekend to partake in some of the 2010 Olympic Winter Game venues. I managed to get tickets to the Switzerland vs. Norway Mens Hockey game and sat 10 rows up from the ice and were shot with my M8 and 90mm Summicron lens from there. I shot sports for the local daily newspaper and the wire service years ago, the DRF M8, not what I would normally use but that is all I had with me. Advertisement Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Hi LeicaMSeattle, Take a look here 2010 Olympic Winter Games Hockey Switzerland-Norway. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Michael Hiles Posted February 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2010 Great shots. Why apologize for the camera? It did a fine job. The idea that you can't shoot sports with an M or SM leica is nonsense. The Norwegian jerseys look quite like the Montreal Canadiens.
stuny Posted February 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2010 Terrific from framing, detail and action. I'd be tempted to adjust the white balance a bit.
pauledell Posted February 25, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 25, 2010 Great shots with the M8. Lovely composition, moment, sharpness and excitement. I agree that the white balance could be improved. Paul
Guest stnami Posted March 2, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 2, 2010 If you used the correct tool a DSLR the results would be so much better, even a film SLR would slay these images ........too much meaningless motion blur in this lot
