M9 SD card issue?

I had a look at an M9 today (I have an M8), it felt very nice to use..... I feel on the cusp of something expensive!

I put my 2GB card from my M8 into the M9, took a few shots, however the card is now unreadable on my home computer (my M8 is not here so I can't test in that).

Is this just an unlucky glitch?

I guess I'll have to reformat the card, fortunately there's nothing major on there, just the M9 shots which I was looking forward to viewing.

You don't say if you tried opening it in Lightroom etc, or if you were using JPEG or .dng for your tests, but if you were just trying to open them in Windows does your PC have a codec installed for viewing .dng files? Just a thought.

I took about 6 DNG shots on the M9, there were about 4 DNG shots already on the card from my M8 - I was taking my M8 in to be repaired, hence the chance to see an M9 and why the M8 is not currently available.

The SD card has been inserted into the 3 different card readers I have along with a dedicated slot on the front of my PC... none of them can read the card, it shows up as not present (if that's not an oxymoron).

I have the codecs for DNG as it's all I shoot in now (thanks to advice here).

I reckon it's dead and should be reformatted.

Slim chance but maybe worth a try, format in the M8 is a "quick format" i.e. it just kills the FAT the data is still there, then assuming the card is operational you can try to use file recovery software to reanimate the pictures (Sandisk has data recovery software on their site if I recall correctly, otherwise a Google search should do the trick)

Disclaimer: there is no guarantee for succes.

EDIT: see you don't have your M8, so my suggestion is not very useful, maybe you can do a "quick format" via other methods in your card reader. NOT a full format obviously.
