Wild Taz

These are terrific. The little guy is a youngster, nearly fully grown. It's very rare to see adults during the day, but adults kick the young out of the group, forcing them to fend for themselves during the day. Even so, you were lucky to see him. I suspect this was near Cradle Mountain.

It was at sunset. I saw it on the way from Gladstone to Musselroe Point, near to Mount William.

I was less lucky with wombats. I wanted to see them in liberty (apparently it's quite easy in South Australia and in Queensland for the hairy one) but I was very unlucky. I saw them in Perth and Sydney.

A nice one for you, Stu ;)

Art,

Great shots. He does not look very happy and is ready to take you on.

Paul

Thank you!

Well... they're not very friendly pets... when he started getting close (I suppose curiosity), I run away. :(

Matt,

I saw it in Tasmania, on the way from Gladstone to Musselroe Point, near to Mount William. I must say I was scared and when he tried to get closer to me... I run away!

I know longtime ago you could see people in Melbourne walking in the streets with their tamed tasmanian devils on lashes, like dogs. Apparently it's very easy to tame Taz and they become affectionate pets, like dogs. But I doubt a wild one is very friendly...
