I am thinking of buying a wide angle lens and a small tele, but I am not sure if it is the right time. Leica might have new interesting lenses in preparation. Any idea were I can find a pooled list of rumor`? Gruß J

Most of the lenses have been improved in the last years and I couldn't think of any that really is missing.
UliWer Posted February 17, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 17, 2010 Rumours tell that there will be an announcement on 02/19 - perhaps in two days you will know more. If you look at the present catalogue you will find that new wide angle lenses were introduced during the last two or three years with 18, 21, 24, and 28mm, with different maximal aperture. For short tele you find two versions for 75 and 90mm each. So there is almost no gap. 1,4/28mm seems to be one, but I still doubt, that they are really going to cannibalize the 24 and 35mm Summiluxes and the 28 Summicron with such a lens. So a new 1,4/35mm Summilux asph is still the most realistic option. We'll see.

luigi bertolotti Posted February 18, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 18, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Imho, there can be also the opportunity to "revamp" the Summicron 50... with Apo, for instance: there is also the room to manage accordingly its price, taking into account the Lux. And (using the dies of the Macro 90 adapter)... a new goggled 135... or 180 f 6,3...
ezc203 Posted February 18, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 18, 2010 I was also kind of hoping for a 28 Lux. But after thinking it over, I realized that seems to promote the idea of sticking with the M8, as opposed to having people upgrade to the M9 + 35 Lux combo. So... realistically I don't see that happening.
andybarton Posted February 18, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 18, 2010 Nothing to stop you using a 28 'lux on an M7, MP or M9 Or indeed any other M (of which there are lots)
