Odd Battery Behavior!

Had a very odd battery or camera behavior today:

 

• Camera showed "Low battery, switch off camera".
  
• Took out used battery and replaced it with newly charged battery (original Leica!).
  
• Camera showed 15% charge on INFO screen.
  
• Switched off camera and on again. Showed 15% still.
  
• Thought I would empty battery totally and then fully charge according to advice from earlier post in this forum. Put the camera on and let it stand waiting for emptying battery.
  
• After 15 min. camera showed "Low battery, switch off camera".
  
• Switched off camera and on again.
  
• Camera showed charge nearly 100%
  
• After taking a few shots it still shows fully charged.
  

Has anybody had the same experience or has it been described earlier?

The system calibrates itself on full discharge. I guess you saw electrons in action.

I've seen it with an aftermarket battery, but not a Leica OEM. My non-original battery was fully charged but only showed about 15 to 20% on the meter, so when switching on the low battery warning came up, I pressed 'Set' to carry on and override the warning and during the time the camera was switched on the meter reset and showed the full remaining charge, about 80%.
