wilfredo Posted February 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been trying to get a call into Leica, Allendale, N.J. where my M8 is on an extended two month vacation and I keep getting a message that the call cannot be completed or that the number is disconnected. Has anyone else had a problem? The number I am calling is 800-222-0118.

wilfredo Posted February 16, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted February 16, 2010 Stuart, This is the number I have always used. I just tried again and got the same message saying it is disconnected or no longer in use. I sent them an e-mail so hopefully they will respond. This is very strange, perhaps their line is down? ho_co Posted February 16, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 16, 2010 Wilfredo-- Have you tried their front line, 201-995-0051? They close at 1700 Eastern, so it's too late to get any response today. 'Spose they closed down and headed for the Bahamas to celebrate this quarter's profit?
Mike G. Posted February 17, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 17, 2010 Wilfredo, I got the same problem. See my post below yours. Mike G.
erg Posted February 17, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 17, 2010 Maybe because it's carnival. It's a german company and everybody goes crazy over here until Wednesday .
wilfredo Posted February 17, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted February 17, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe because it's carnival. It's a german company and everybody goes crazy over here until Wednesday . If they did, they must have busted the phones. I will try again tomorrow :-) All the festivities should be over by then, it's Lent.
doug_m Posted February 17, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 17, 2010 Try 800 631 1584 or 201 995 0051
3rdtrick Posted February 17, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 17, 2010 I just called the number this morning and got their voice mail system. Seems to be working now. Could have been a glich with the 800 number. The 800 numbers are only a pointer to a regular phone number. Try it today. Pete
stuny Posted February 17, 2010 Share #10 Posted February 17, 2010 Wilfredo - Monday night into most of Tuesday northern NJ got another large snow storm (following one less than a week before) so perhaps the line was down? I just tried the 800 number and their normal off-hours recording played.
wilfredo Posted February 17, 2010 Author Share #11 Posted February 17, 2010 I'm glad to hear they can communicate with the rest of the world again. I got this message from them: Good Afternoon, Unfortunately, that is the current turn around time for the M8 cameras. Your repair is scheduled to be complete March 5th. Thank you Colleen ********************************************************************************************************************** I've never waited this long for a repair so I hope this time around they actually do a repair and don't limit the job to a cleaning! As you can tell, I'm getting antsy, this is taking way too long.
