smgorsch Posted February 16, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 16, 2010 After our recent pounding, I hate to admit it but I like this. Do you recall aperture/speed? stefan
pauledell Posted February 16, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 16, 2010 Mark, A wonderful shot with great composition, lovely tones, exposure, clarity and atmosphere. A neat night to be out and about. I think this is the best of your blizzard series yet. Paul
stuny Posted February 16, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 16, 2010 Mark - Terrific in every way. Did Pam shoot too?
mark_goode Posted February 16, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted February 16, 2010 Al and Paul - thank you. It's one of my favorites too . . . though my all time favorite of the blizzard series was taken with my Mamiya and can't be shown here :-( But this is a close second in my mind. Here's a link to my favorite:Blizzard of 2010 - markgoodephotography's Photos Similar to this one but different too . . . Stefan - thank you. We did take a pounding! I always enjoy the falling of the snow; it's the "shoveling" that gets tedious. The aperture was f 3.8 and the shutter speed around 1/2 second. I used a monopod to hold the camera steady. Stuart - thank you. Yes, Pam was out shooting . . . with her Nikon. She experiences some real white balance problems with the M8 and finds that unless she's shooting in natural light, the images require a lot of post-processing to correct for the color balance problems. So, she grabs her Nikon when shooting in conditions like this (artificial light from the street lights).
