rollsman4 Posted February 15, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am interested in buying this camera but Not sure about it. I know the camera takes Great pictures but The FLASH is my concern. I want to use my own flash and NOT the Built in flash. I am not sure which flash will work with this camera. Also. I use flash on a bracket and it would have to work off camera on the bracket as well. Is there any hope ??? thank you. rollsman
Advertisement Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Hi rollsman4, Take a look here Not Sure About Buying Digilux 3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nigelb Posted February 15, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 15, 2010 Olympus and Panasonic work on this camera, but for off camera flash you should find something in the Metz range, they do a series of flashguns, including hammer-head that can use an Olympus fit SCA adapter and leads. I use a Metz 36 AF-4 in Oly/Pana fitting (just a smallish bounce head gun - but fine for my purposes though probably not for yours) on my L1, D-Lux4, and Olympus E-410. They do a huge range. peterm1_Leica Posted February 16, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 16, 2010 There are plenty of compatible lenses available on eBay. I own a Panasonic L1 (same camera) and have been tempted to buy a flash for it but have never succumbed. But I have satisfied myself that I could if I wished. Not sure about an off camera flash adapter though. But then again I have never looked.
stevev1969 Posted February 16, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 16, 2010 I love mine and have got a Metz AF-48 with it which works superbly when I occasionally need a flash. I doubt you'll regret it.
carlosecpf Posted February 17, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 17, 2010 The Olympus FL50 is very powerful and TTL works flawlessly with a Digilux 3. The only caveat is that the AF beam in the flash gun does work in Leica or Panasonic body.
jaapv Posted February 17, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 17, 2010 I use an Olympus RF11 ringflash on the Digilux 3 and it works perfectly. I guess that that means any flash that works on Olympus will be fine on the Leica. To mount a flash off-camera you can use the Olympus FL-CB05 hot-shoe cable.
