swamiji Posted February 12, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have three lenses that use Series VII filters, Summilux 24mm, Elmarit 135mm, and Telyt 560mm. I know there is an adapter for the 24mm, and possibly a workaround for the Elmarit, but the Telyt is only Series 7. I have look at every camera shop that specalized in used or repairs in my area, and found many a filter, but not a Series 7 Polarizer of any kind. So does any body make them, at least at reasonable price. I hear that B+W will make it, but it would almost be the price of the lenses I wish to use it on. Thanks in advance
Advertisement Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Hi swamiji, Take a look here Series VII Polarizer. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted February 12, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2010 B&W will supply it at a normal price and Heliopan around 100 Euro, but have you got the adapter to turn it ?

jaapv Posted February 12, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 12, 2010 Iirc, Luigi, there used to be a rotating adapter the would fit in that slot.
swamiji Posted February 12, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted February 12, 2010 I checked with my dealer, and they say the filter is no longer the case. Heliopan has dropped series 7 entirely, and B+W will custom make it at a premium. Maybe, they just don't want to deal with this type of order? As to filter adapters, I have the Adapter for the Summilux 24mm so I can use a 72mm filter. I have the Elmarit 135 Series VII adapter so I can use Series 7 filters on it. I do not have the Telyt adapter, so I was figuring on measuring the degree of turn when closing the carrier. So I was just going to add that to my calculations. jaapv Posted February 13, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 13, 2010 Your dealer is wrong. Look on the Heliopan site, it is listed in their current catalog. As for B&W, contact http://www.foto-huppert.de/ That is the semi-official B&W factory outlet. The Kasemann polfilters are available in series as standard and listed in the catalog as well. The Kasemann filters, being industry standard quality, are bound to be more expensive than Heliopan, however.

I remember that the 400 Telyt could use series VIII in front with some adapter... but maybe not the 560 (and surely not series VIII, in case)... and the adapters would be probably not easier to find than the one quoted by Jaap.
