sepho Posted February 11, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I find it very hard to choose between these two lenses... I´m aware of the focus shift problems with CV 1.4/35mm - but do I find similar problems with the Biogon 2.8/35mm? I allready have CV 4.5/15mm Heliar ll - great lens! But need one to be my "standard" lens. Please help me ...of course to be used with my M8.
Advertisement Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hi sepho, Take a look here CV 1.4/35mm or Zeiss Biogon 2.8/35mm??. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ArtZ Posted February 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 11, 2010 sepho, The CV 35/1.4 it's a great little lens. I use it a lot. Focus shift? Try it first and get your own opinion... I don't have the ZM Biogon 35/2.8 but I have a ZM Biogon 35/2.0. Nice lens but I use more often the CV 35/1.4. Warum? Weiß ich nicht... (Why? That's the way I'm approaching such questions (although my Zeiss selection was the f/2). Of course, I'm having trouble actually selling one! (I'm leaning toward keeping the Zeiss, but it's going to take a bit more time to know for sure)
sepho Posted February 12, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted February 12, 2010 OK - thanks. Just ordered the CV, after reading Steve Huff´s review. I think it´s a "must try" - the seller guaranteed that they would check for the focus shift problems, that some wrote about. Now I can´t wait to hit the streets! leif e Posted February 12, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 12, 2010 I really think you´ll be happy! I use my 1,4/35 SC a lot and love it. I do however sometimes suspect minor focus problems on my M8. So; I am sending camera and lens to Will van Manen for a check/adjustment while servicing the viewfinder/shutter anyway. le
efix Posted May 26, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 26, 2010 So how did the Nokton work out for you? I sent mine back, because shifting was terrible from f/2 onwards and I didn't like that. Now I opted for the Biogon 2/35. It's twice the price, but I believe also twice the lens :-) (Have you read Steve Huff's review on that lens, too?) chrisleica Posted May 26, 2010 Share #7 Posted May 26, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would recommend you take a look at Sean Reid's site (http://www.reidreviews.com). It is a subscription site, but it contains numerous articles on Leica-M, including the latest review of 35 mm lenses. Chris
