LourensJ Posted February 9, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all! Would like to share with you that I just recieved a very stylish handmade bag out of France for my Leica M8. The quality of this bag is magnificent! A French couple make these bags and there is a special model "Fogg Flute" for the Leica M8/M9 + walkaround lens. They have a very nice website as well where you can find all the information about the bags: foggspecialistbags.com/flute Just for those who want a little protection and as an alternative for the luigi cases. Jeff S Posted February 11, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Consider also the Lyre. A bit bigger than the Flute, but still rather small, with ability to carry camera with lens, with space for another lens (or two). Makes things a bit less cramped, and gives a bit more flexibility IMO. I use one for transport when I go on a day shoot with two lenses. However, I rarely work out of the bag unless it's unusually cold or inclement...otherwise camera goes over shoulder and additional lens goes in pocket or in belt pouch. For extended trips with camera and 4 lenses, plus accessories, the b-Laika is perfect. Mine are all black...leather, fabric and stitching. carbon_dragon Posted February 16, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 16, 2010 It's obviously better if a bag with an expensive camera doesn't look like a camera bag. That said, most of my camera bags are obviously camera bags. Ironically my Leica bag is just an ancient, very well padded phony leather bag with the phony leather peeling off. I need a better strap though. The bag here is nice looking though if you're only carrying a body and one extra lens.
earleygallery Posted February 16, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 16, 2010 It's obviously better if a bag with an expensive camera doesn't look like a camera bag. Is that why the fogg bag looks like it's meant for carrying a gas mask?
Jeff S Posted February 16, 2010 Share #10 Posted February 16, 2010 Fogg doesn't publish pics of their all-black option, available on all bags. But, here are some pics of a Billingham bag, another quite expensive line. Look at the 4th bag down in all black. Maybe still not a "gas mask" carrier, but I do think that the all black option doesn't shout like the others...billingham stowaway Anyway, that's my view and I'm sticking to it. alan c. davis Posted February 17, 2010 Share #11 Posted February 17, 2010 I also have the mocha Flute. Liked it so much I ordered a B-Major. Bought mine from Chiif in Singapore. He has plenty of photos on his website of the Foggs.
