Hi I was going through my late Fathers IIIf camera bag today and found this;

Can anyone help me with what it does please?

Yes, indeed! it is a NOOKY optical near-focusing device for screw-mount Leica (like the IIIf). It screws in the body in place of the lens, and then the 3,5/5cm Elmar lens is fixed through the bayonet of its tube (when retracted). The optical #window" of the NOOKY aligns with the camera's viewer and provides necessary parallax correction for the near-focusing. Veruy useful: Enjoy it:

Trouble is there are so many cameras to choose from!!

In Leica alone I have;

Leica M2 early button rewind no self timer

Leica Flex SL

Leica CL

Leica IIIc

Leica Ic

Plus another 100 or so cameras, Voigtlander Rollei, Nikon Olympus, Canon, Minox, Kodak, Agfa, Zeiss Ikon, etc etc.

Luckily I have the correct lens required, its on the 1c at the moment but I tried it out earlier and yup it all fitted together correctly.

The little adaptor does a great job of bringing things into focus at the much closer range, so tomorrow I shall mostly be trying it out.
