To get the Lightroom licence number, you need your camera serial number and a TAN number. The TAN number is located on the back of your registration card (Black thin booklet packed together with the camera manual).

Then you have to register your camera at Leica's website. When registered, you get an option to download lightroom. If you at this step fill in your camera serial number and the TAN number, then Leica will send the software license number in a separate e-mail.

I appreciate all the replies but a question remains. What if the M9 was registered on Leica's website say a few months ago. Then around now, the booklet with the TAN number is found and one has already downloaded a trial version of Lightroom off Adobe's website. Can one go back to the Leica website and still imput the TAn number somehow to get a serial number or would one prceed with the senaro I described a different nad maybe more efficient way? Thnaks for any info you can supply.
