Babar760 Posted February 4, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Scanned some of my old negatives and found this shot. Can anyone identify these cars. Shot with my old M3 and 50mmf/2.8 Elmar. Film and processing-A big mistake!!! And, can anyone give me a year?
Advertisement Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Hi Babar760, Take a look here 2- $ 6,000,000 cars. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elansprint72 Posted February 4, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 4, 2010 Ferrari 250 LM, worth maybe 12 million dollars/Euro/ GBP at present rates. Corvette, looks like a kosher Le Mans car, value??? but, if this one is real, quite a bit. Behind? Some other sort of 'vette thing, looks expensive. In the garage: my senses say racing Aston Martin for some reason; if so: loads of money. Where is Carlisle, I'm assuming not between England and Scotland? Whats the story? stuny Posted February 5, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 5, 2010 The Corvettes are 2nd generation designs (Stingray), and the first model year was 1963. The coupe is not a '63, which is the only year it had a split rear window. As a street car, a '63 split window coupe with fuel injection is the most valuable. Babar760 Posted February 5, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted February 5, 2010 Ferrari 1964 GTO ( only 3 or 4 made) and the one in the back is a Corvette Grand Sport, also only 3 or 4 made by the Chevrolet "skunkworks", when GM had banned racing. When AJ Foyt raced it at Sebring ( 1963? or 1964?) he said " I didn't know whether I was driving a car or a small airplane". It had so much power and lousy aerodynamics that the front end would literally be off the ground when accelerating. This shot was taken in 1966 with my trusty M3. I had bulk loaded some lousy movie film and in processing a few images got light struck, hence the lack of contrast and strong grain. Although, I feel that I'm getting twice the grain in scanning than I had when I made same sized prints! Here's another shot from a different angle. Finally, the guy who owned these cars probably wishes he still owned them! Carlisle is a suburb of Boston,Massachusetts.

MJSPhoto Posted February 5, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I brought my car to a local meet here in Los Angeles this past Sunday, and that Corvette Grand Sport (or a replica of it I didn't take a close look) was there
elansprint72 Posted February 5, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 5, 2010 My apologies, it is indeed the forgotten Ferrari, the 250 GTO Series 2. The LM had the engine in the back.
