Hi,

As I told you, I'm goning to hold a D2 and I'd like to buy a good A4 printer (is the D2 good enough for an A3 print?) to do all the digital-workflow by my own.

I'd buy even a tool to calibrate the monitor like Pantone/Spyder ecc..

What kind of printer could you suggest me in the <400€?

Best regards,

Manuele.

I've been very impressed with the HP B8850. It has multiple black / grey inks and does B&W and Color A3 at a decent price. I'm using a Macbook Pro which I calibrated with a EyeOne Display 2. Using the proper ICC for my papers, my prints are very close to my screen despite the fact that its a glossy laptop screen.

...is the D2 good enough for an A3 print?....

Absolutely.

And, since accumulated ink costs very soon becomes far higher than what you paid for just about any printer, don´t skimp! Bigger, pro oriented printers have bigger ink cartridges, which will give far lower per-print ink costs - and usually one set of cartridges is included in the printer prize (although some manufacturers supply special "starter" cartridges with less ink than the regular ones...:( ).

So, when I contemplated replacing my old Epson 2100 with a new 2400 a couple of years ago, I soon found I would actually save money by going for the larger 3800. While it does print A2, I´ve yet to print one that big, but who cares, I save on every A4 and A3 I print with it. And some day, I might need A2...
