carbonadam Posted January 31, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there supposed to be a specific Lieca M9 profile under Camera Calibration besides just Adobe Standard and Embedded next to the Profile: chooser? I updated Lightroom the other day expecting to see specific camera profiles. I see none besides the 2 choices I listed above. Any help or explanation would be appreciated. The Adobes site is about as cryptic and muddled as a site can get and the Help tool is no better. Thanks.
Advertisement Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Hi carbonadam, Take a look here lightroom 2.6.1 M9 Profile? Help. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
250swb Posted January 31, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2010 All the different camera profiles are stored in the 'Standard' setting. ACR recognises which camera the RAW or .dng file comes from and assigns the correct profile. If you had a Nikon or Canon you may be able to get variations of the profile, for things like 'warm skin tone' or 'blue skies'. But its not likely Adobe will work on those for the M9 and I haven't seen any custom profiles created and offered by individuals as is Adobe's intention in providing editing software for them. Overgaard Posted January 31, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 31, 2010 If you download the Lightroom 3 beta, install it and then keep using the 2.6.1 you should get the better profile from the 3 working in 2.6.1. At least that is what I do and it's better than previous profiles. Apart from that I stay away from beta software in my daily workflow.
carbonadam Posted January 31, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted January 31, 2010 But in Lightroom 2.6.1 should I be seeing any other choices besides Adobe Standard and Embedded next to the Profile: chooser?
carbonadam Posted January 31, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted January 31, 2010 OK. Did the LR 3 Beta install. Now I have this: I lost Embedded but I still see Adobe Standard. And now there are the new choices as well.

Also in LR3 beta it only shows up the same two! Do I need to do more than installing LR3 beta?
delander † Posted February 1, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK. Did the LR 3 Beta install. Now I have this: I lost Embedded but I still see Adobe Standard. And now there are the new choices as well. Those look like the profiles for Canon cameras. Adobe uses profiles which mimic those found in the camera or in the manufacturers RAW converter. I dont think they should be there for the M9.
