ijporter Posted December 10, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 10, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) R6 90 Summicron Velvia 100 As I was heading up to the Peak District from Stoke-on-Trent I passed through Cheddleton and saw a sign to the Charnet Valley Railway. I heade off down the long hill, crossed the river and the canal and found a recreation of '1930s England'. I didn't have to wait long before the steam locomotive appeared and I managed this shot of its running gear while it was stopped at the station. I hope this picture is a decent size! Advertisement Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Hi ijporter, Take a look here Cheddleton Flyer. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted December 10, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 10, 2006 Ian - Very nice composition with nearly monochromatic colors enhanced by the steam. I think this post is better placed in the Sports & Leisuretime section, partly because of there being no people in this shot, and partly because of our large collection of train buffs who post there. ijporter Posted December 10, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted December 10, 2006 Thanks for the positive comments. You're right to say that it ought to be in the leisure category - I posted it immediately after looking at a people category shot and forgot to change categories. I might relocate it, but it seems a bit like 'double dipping'. With best wishes Ian
