i would urge the moderator to remove the crook allegation from the header. such labeling, not proven, is a great disservice.

I'm sorry mate, but and based on what you do that request ? You urge what ?

I can send to anyone interested my string of emails with cameraleather to the point of no reply.

Several forum members did encouraged me to contact Morgan again and if things get settled , to ask to remove the post - which I consider fair.

I sent another email, 48 hours ago, to which I have no reply.

So I'm sorry, crook in my dictionary is someone who takes what doesnt belong to them.

Heck, last time I saw Cameraleather wasnt neither a bank nor a charity organization, therefore they took my money and never gave me something back. And I got all the email support to prove it.

Well it took him a bit to reply but he did.

He apologised for the whole fiasco and offered to send it via express mail, trackable to my new adress.

I offered to pay the difference of the mailing service but he denied.

To be honest, seems a nice guy but a bit overwhelmed with work.

Anyway, as promised, once everything gets settled, I will ask this topic to be closed and will post a happy ending - or so I hope.

That reminds me - who is a topic adminstrator here ? Tried to look around and cant find any..

Not weighing in on original poster's issue but think future researchers for cameraleather might benefit knowing my recent experience with them was a good one.

My interaction with them was minimal; ordered a M8 Griptac kit from their web site, it arrived in a few days. My wife, who has a knack for this sort of thing, actually performed the 'surgery' of removing original M8 skin and replacing it with cameraleather kit. She emailed them with a few questions and they replied right away. Camerleather reccommends waiting a few days for glue to dry but I don't know, it appeared okay to handle in a few short hours. Mine went on yesterday morning, will likely take the camera out today.

Easy for me to say but it was a pretty simple, painless process. I also couldn't be happier with the results.

Nice, maybe. Libelled, definitely.

A more cautious thread title would have been wiser.

Meanwhile, I love the Verdigras cover I put on my black M8.

............... Chris

Chris, looking back now - you perhaps are right.

Yap, I was perhaps too feisty and perhaps I should have been wiser and more carefully choosing a title - but then again, I'm 100% latin and we are not exactly known to be the calm type.... neither the moderate ones.

But everything seems sorted now, skin should be on the way and I will post the outcome when it arrives, so that if anyone does a google search, it checks the whole story.

After that, I will ask a mod to bury the thread.

John, as posted , I will post the final outcome of all this, so that people that search in the future for cameraleather can see how the whole thing unwind and ended - and even can hear a "mea culpa" from me in calling Morgan and his company a Crook.

If i was my mistake ( and appears to be ) , as fast as I can perhaps badly choosen words ( although due to the experience I had ) , I can also ask apologies and try to remedy the damage.

Don't bury the thread, it stands on its own as a multi-forum-member testimony for Morgan and, well, for you proenca, something entirely different is recorded for posterity. Leave it.

  • 1 year later...

I'm having some difficulty in retrieving a job from Camera Leather as well, and it's been months since I've received an email from Morgan. Does anyone know of an alernate way to reach him other than the info@cameraleather.com? I can appreciate how busy he is - I would just like to have an update on the status of the repair. I've searched the site thoroughly, and haven't been able to find a contact phone number. Any assistance that this forum could provide would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I ordered a kit for one of my cameras about 2 months ago, within 2 weeks I received an email from Morgan advising it was shipped and received it a few days later.

My understanding is that some of the leathers are hard to get and take some time. He's not very responsive in these cases, but you will always get it.

Over the years, I've ordered from Morgan and only once was there a great delay. It was with goat leather and it took somewhere over 2-3 months.

For that reason, I never strip a camera of the old covering until I get the new kit.

You Have to be Prepared for Delays
