Don Helmudo Posted January 18, 2010 Share #21  Posted January 18, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hmm, I was about to cancel my preorder today...  Edward, no  I have an M8, my first rangefinder and first real camera and of course I ask myself if I really need the X1. But there are situations where the M8 is too big. On business trips for example or going out for dinner and so on... I am just not willing to compromise on IQ anymore!  But there is one more point in not canceling any pre-order: How do you think you feel once the shipping has started and people start praising their X1s here while you have giving up your place in the queue?  You can still sell it if you do not like with not much loss as long as it is almost new and still has left most of it´s warranty
Advertisement Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Hi Don Helmudo, Take a look here X2 Wish List. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
h00ligan Posted January 18, 2010 Share #22 Â Posted January 18, 2010 Well, for me - the more time I spend with the gf1 the more i wonder what I would gain with the x1, vs what I know I will lose... Â it's a tough choice!
Don Helmudo Posted January 18, 2010 Share #23  Posted January 18, 2010 What you would gain? A true Leica Camera, what else?  On sunday I shot around 300 picturs. 200 M8, Summilux 1.4/35 and 100 Nikon D300 with a 1.4/30 from Sigma wich I really like a lot on my much cheaper D3000 (it is so cute an tiny, the D3000 ). As all pictures have been made under the same conditions they can be compared quite good. All I can say is, that it is true what they say about Leica lenses: They do magic! The pictures produced by the Nikon D300 are without any doubt of really good quality but the ones from the Leica are almost three-dimensional and the bokeh is so nice and the pictures look so creamy... it´s love  Having read the reviews, especially the one from Steve Huff (also see his review of the Summilux 1.4/35mm, and you´ll understand my words above I am expecting the X1 to produce at least similar results but with a camera to take just anywhere I go.  Sorry for beeing OT in the X2 wish list. Evan more I do not have any need for an X2. It´ll be just okay if they would start shipping the X1

it's a tough choice!  You'll gain simplified controls and a little better IQ. If you can forget about the X1, you already have a very good camera that will last a few years. I just wish these cameras (u 4/3 cameras) were more simplified in their controls and not so "swiss-army" with their features.
h00ligan Posted January 18, 2010 Share #25 Â Posted January 18, 2010 I'd agree with all of that
