wilfredo Posted January 13, 2010 Share #21 Posted January 13, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The 35mm Summicron ASPH is my favorite lens on the M8. Even as a portrait lens. Advertisement Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Hi wilfredo, Take a look here 35mm Chron on M8?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fursan Posted January 14, 2010 Share #22 Posted January 14, 2010 Agree with Wilfredo. Nothing beats the cron 35mm asph on the M8 for size, ergo, performance and price ( leica price! ). Nothing! p.s Wilfredo, lovely portrait as usual.
Jiukuic5609 Posted January 15, 2010 Share #23 Posted January 15, 2010 Another option is the zeiss biogon 35mm zm f/2. I just got mine a few weeks ago and I do like it a lot. Although there is something to be said about the 50mm summicron, two on the M8 it is a nice short tele. I am really enjoying the 35mm Biogon as I cannot afford a 35mm Cron ASPH and I have a feeling it will stay glued to my M8 A review I did on the 50mm summicron: Daniel Valente Photography (Leica Summicron 50mm F/2 Review for the M8)
brill64 Posted January 15, 2010 Share #24 Posted January 15, 2010 yes, that's a lovely portrait, wilfredo..i was not aware the lens abbreviations annoyed people but duly noted, thanks jaapv. i just find them useful. i agree to trade the 50summarit for the 35summicron if you want a more useful lens on the m8
cbretteville Posted January 15, 2010 Share #25 Posted January 15, 2010 If I had to chose between a 35 and a 50 on the M8, I'd go with the 35. The 35/2 ASPH is a fantastic lens. I must admit that, even though it also is a great lens, my 35/2 verison IV hasn't seen much use since I bought the ASPH. Carl
